Position Summary
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst leads analytical support for long-term strategic programs and financial reporting initiatives across the hospital. This role partners closely with leadership and stakeholders to support financial operations, reporting, budgeting, process improvement initiatives, and enterprise-wide strategic analysis efforts. The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst also serves as a key resource for complex financial analysis, operational performance reporting, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead analytical support for strategic programs and serve as the point person for assigned financial projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze trends, variances, grants, cost centers, and special funds, providing recommendations and actionable insights to leadership.
  • Support operating budget development and provide financial forecasting and reporting analysis.
  • Lead special projects focused on improving hospital operations and financial performance.
  • Prepare executive-level financial and statistical reports for monthly closes
  • Guide department managers in utilizing financial data and recommendations to support operational planning and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and support team members in financial reporting, analytics, and presentation preparation.
  • Maintain organized supporting documentation and schedules for audits, reconciliations, reporting, and monthly close activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance teams, operational leaders, and hospital departments 
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of financial reporting and analysis experience in a hospital or healthcare setting required.
  • Strong experience with financial reporting, general ledger analysis, budgeting, reconciliations, and operational analytics required.
  • Experience leading complex analyses, process improvement initiatives, and mentoring junior staff preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expert knowledge of financial analytics and operational effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret trends and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to lead enterprise-wide strategic analysis efforts and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and advanced Excel functionality preferred.
