Sr. Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic
Location: Dayton, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: To
$50.00 per hour based on experience/qualifications

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic to join our Dayton, Texas facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys diagnosing complex equipment issues, performing hands-on repairs, and mentoring the next generation of technicians.

What You'll Do
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and fuel systems on heavy construction equipment
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, fluid changes, and minor diesel engine repairs
Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
Travel to customer job sites within the assigned region as needed for equipment service, repairs, and operator training
Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and industry standards
Provide customers with guidance on equipment operation and maintenance best practices
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
7+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment - must have 7+ years to be considered
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
Experience using digital voltmeters (DVMs)
Working knowledge of CANbus systems and PLCs
Ability to provide personal tools required for the position
Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination
Preferred
10+ years of heavy construction equipment experience
Welding experience
Advanced diesel engine troubleshooting and repair skills
Experience working independently in both shop and field service environments
Prior experience training or mentoring technicians
