Senior Human Resource Business Partner

Xcelerate is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to help support the company's continued growth, operational excellence, and employee experience initiatives. Working closely with the company's executive and Human Capital leadership teams, this role serves as a trusted HR advisor and hands-on business partner supporting assigned client groups across the organization. The successful candidate will partner with leaders and employees to deliver practical HR solutions, resolve complex workforce issues, and execute key people initiatives that enable business success.This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys balancing relationship-building, problem-solving, and operational execution in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. The role offers the opportunity to support a rapidly growing government contractor operating in highly regulated environments while contributing to acquisitions, new program launches, workforce integration efforts, and other strategic business initiatives.

Responsibilies:

Partner with Leaders and Employees

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned business units and functional departments.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and employees to understand business needs and workforce challenges.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on performance management, employee relations, organizational change, and workforce planning.
  • Support managers in addressing employee concerns, workplace conflicts, and development opportunities.
  • Demonstrate experience implementing and managing performance management platforms, preferably 15Five, including configuration, rollout, stakeholder adoption, and ongoing optimization.

Drive Employee Relations and Compliance

  • Conduct employee relations investigations and support resolution of workplace issues.
  • Partner with leaders on performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies, employment practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Support Growth, Acquisitions, and Integration

  • Assist with integration activities associated with acquisitions, new programs, and organizational transitions.
  • Support workforce planning, onboarding initiatives, and organizational changes.
  • Partner with HR leadership to ensure a positive employee experience during periods of growth and expansion.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead organizational change management initiatives, including workforce transformations, process improvements, and enterprise-wide change programs that support business objectives.
  • Support and manage human capital aspects of mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational restructuring efforts, ensuring smooth employee transitions and operational continuity.

Deliver Operational Excellence

  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of employee lifecycle activities and HR processes.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of HR systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and service delivery.
  • Translate strategic business objectives into actionable HR and operational plans, driving execution, accountability, and measurable results across the organization.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Ability to independently execute strategic initiatives, influence stakeholders at all levels, and deliver outcomes in complex, fast-paced environments.

    Minimum Requirement: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
    • Experience serving as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist, or HR Manager.
    • Strong employee relations and workplace investigation experience.
    • Experience coaching managers and supporting performance management activities.
    • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Government contracting experience.
    • Experience supporting Service Contract Act (SCA) populations.
    • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or workforce integrations.
    • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Deltek Costpoint.
    • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
