OPPORTUNITY: HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST III- Newport Beach, CA

 

Job Summary:

 

The Sr. Human Resources Specialist is responsible for managing the daily employee relations related functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including, manager education and coaching, performance management, administering and leave of absences, reasonable accommodations, and enforcing company policies and practices.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Employee Relations

•  Supports management by addressing and resolving performance concerns, corrective action and conflict management issues
•  Provides advice and guidance to managers regarding employee performance and corrective action, terminations, and investigations
•  Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors

Policies & Procedures

• Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory training
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• Recommends best practices for HR-related activities and programs
• Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, and employment law

 

Department Support

• Administers and executes human resource programs including but not limited to leave of absence; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
• Participates in quality assurance activities

Education and Experience:

• 5 - 7 years of related experience and Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Other Qualifications:

• SHRM-CP and/or HRCI certification a plus
• Thorough, expert-level knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws, government regulations and agency rules
• Paylocity HRIS experience a plus
• Outlook Email, Calendar and Contact systems experience
• Microsoft Excel and Word experience

 

Salary range is $87,000-$100,000 annually. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a 401(K) match, rental incentive and renewal compensation, bonuses, and rental discounts depending on location.  Regular full-time employees who work between 30-40 hours a week are eligible for medical, dental, vision, other voluntary benefits and vacation accrual, Sick time accrual is provided in accordance with law.
