    Description

    Job Summary:

    Serves as the organization's subject matter expert in HVAC systems, responsible for maintenance tasks requiring complex troubleshooting and problem solving, performing complex diagnostics and repairs. Acts as lead contact on projects, mentors technician team members, and ensures code compliance and safety standards are upheld.

    Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

    • Serves as the senior HVAC specialist, providing expert-level diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of complex heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the healthcare facility, ensuring regulatory compliance, patient comfort, and system reliability.
    • Lead diagnostics and repairs on chillers, boilers, rooftop units, and specialized healthcare HVAC systems.
    • Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and vendors for large-scale projects and system upgrades.
    • Serve as technical resource for junior HVAC staff and cross-trade collaboration.
    • Troubleshoot and program building automation systems (BAS) for optimal performance.
    • Perform complex repairs on variable air volume (VAV) systems, air handling units, and medical-grade filtration systems.
    • Conduct advanced preventive maintenance in compliance with healthcare regulations and ASHRAE standards.
    • Respond to escalated HVAC emergencies affecting patient care areas.
    • Ensures system are properly tested, maintained, and documented in compliance with DNV standards
    • Ensures all activities are done in compliance with codes and regulatory standards
    • All other HVAC duties as assigned.

    Education:

    Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    Preferred:

    • Post-secondary education in HVAC-R or equivalent experience.
    • Completion of HVAC-R training program.

    Experience:

    Required:

    • 5 years of experience in HVAC-R, including supervisory or project lead responsibilities.

    Preferred:

    • 5 years of progressive healthcare experience

    Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

    Required:

    • Valid Driver's License

    Preferred:

    • EPA 608 certification
