What will you help us create?

The Sr. Regulatory Compliance Engineer position requires expertise in RF System, EMC Design and Design for Regulatory Compliance. The right candidate will be an exemplary practitioner, will set the technical bar for the team and will ensure our products conform with North American and worldwide regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Your expertise in wireless radio technology, EMC best practices and global regulatory standards will be critical as you engage with an experienced cross-functional development team to drive design for compliance and conceive innovative wireless products for customers.

You will develop and execute strategies that address evolving global wireless spectrum standards and requirements. Your role will include solving ambitious and complex compliance challenges through research, engagement with regulatory agencies, hands-on testing, debugging, and validation activities. You must be highly analytical, able to work effectively across multiple teams and have a strong ability to navigate the global regulatory compliance schemes to enable market access of consumer electronic products. As a technical lead, you will establish standardized approaches and best practices while mentoring and supporting junior engineers. Additionally, you must excel at communicating complex regulatory matters to engineering teams, driving compliant designs from early development phases, and make sound technical decisions that balance innovation with compliance requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Drive global regulatory strategy across our hardware portfolio and launch countries, working closely with product management and design teams to research and specify regulatory and certification requirements. • Lead engagement with industry bodies and regulatory authorities to influence standards and regulations, including domestic (FCC) and international certifications (ISED/CE/MIC), NRTLs, and other regulatory bodies. • Develop scalable mechanisms for regulatory intelligence, risk assessment, and compliance processes, planning and directing compliance testing of hardware platforms, devices, and accessories. • Guide cross-functional teams through complex regulatory challenges to achieve business-critical goals, supporting the design team through product execution to meet all applicable hardware compliance requirements. • Create strategic initiatives to address emerging regulatory challenges while enabling innovation, performing fast-paced, detailed, and results-oriented independent research when necessary. • Anticipate bottlenecks and develop risk mitigation strategies in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, delivering concise and informative compliance updates to management. • Lead creative problem-solving of technical and non-technical regulatory challenges, collaborating with the legal team to navigate complex compliance issues. • Communicate regulatory strategies and risks effectively to senior leadership as necessary. • Build strong relationships with public policy, legal, and business stakeholders, including manufacturing partners to ensure compliance of NPI and sustaining products. • Monitor global regulatory landscapes and assess impact on product development strategies.
