Overview
TalentFish is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. EUC Engineer- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure for our premier client. This is a 6-month contract role that will be primarily remote. We are seeking candidates residing near Chicago, Illinois who are open to potential in-person team building and/or meetings.
As the Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Architect and Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will lead a strategic initiative to assess, optimize, and modernize the organization's Endpoint Management, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and Contractor Access environment. This individual will evaluate the current-state architecture, recommend scalable and secure solutions, and implement improvements that enhance endpoint management, secure remote access, and the overall end user experience.

What You Bring to the Role
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• 5-7+ years of experience as an Endpoint Engineer, End User Computing Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, SCCM Engineer, or similar role.
• Intune & SCCM/MECM Subject Matter Expert (SME) highly preferred.
• Architect mindset with experience designing and implementing modern endpoint technologies and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience assessing existing infrastructure, identifying opportunities for improvement, and architecting scalable, secure endpoint solutions.
• Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Windows 365 Cloud PC, Citrix, VMware Horizon, or similar technologies.
• Experience designing secure remote access and contractor access solutions within enterprise environments.

Strategic & Architectural Responsibilities
• Lead the assessment, design, and optimization of the organization's Endpoint Management, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and Contractor Access environment.
• Evaluate current-state infrastructure and develop architectural recommendations that improve scalability, security, performance, and user experience.
• Design and implement modern endpoint management solutions leveraging Intune, SCCM/MECM, Azure, Autopilot, Windows 365 Cloud PC, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Develop architectural standards and best practices for endpoint management, virtual desktop infrastructure, and secure remote access.
• Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership while partnering with Infrastructure, Security, and End User Computing teams.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Project Management Responsibilities
• Manage multiple infrastructure initiatives simultaneously.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and technical solutions.
• Develop project plans, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Track project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with business objectives.
What You'll Do
• Assess the current VDI and Contractor Access environment and develop recommendations for modernization and optimization.
• Design and implement improvements to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Windows 365 Cloud PC, and endpoint technologies to improve performance, scalability, and security.
• Enhance secure remote access capabilities for employees, contractors, and third-party users.
• Engineer and support Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM/MECM/SCCM) environments.
• Manage endpoint policies using Intune and Group Policy.
• Manage Azure Active Directory and Hybrid Active Directory.
• Create and enhance reporting across endpoint technologies, devices, patching, and incidents.
• Resolve complex escalated endpoint engineering issues.
• Research and evaluate new endpoint technologies and solutions.
• Partner with Infrastructure, Security, and End User Computing teams to deliver scalable, modern endpoint solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $50 - $65 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. TalentFish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
