Position Description UtilityInnovation Group (UIG) is an industry leader in shaping the future of electric grid infrastructure with a focus on decarbonization and increasing system resiliency. The Sr. Integration Technician provides technical support for site integration, site delivery, and ongoing maintenance of UIG projects and GridSure control systems. Responsibilities include supporting the deployment of distributed generation control systems, PLC programming, SCADA and remote monitoring solutions, protective relay programming, battery storage applications, generators, networking equipment, and control architectures. Work is based on customer-provided or internally developed plans and specifications, in accordance with UIG procedures and standards. Key Responsibilities Review project specifications and drawings with the engineering team Provide technical support for UIG field personnel, engineering teams, and 3rd-party vendors Support commissioning, integration, and field installation of UIG products and systems Support and coordinate maintenance programs Make field changes to support engineering and customer requirements Document final installation "as-built" configuration and revisions Capture and communicate lessons learned from field integration and maintenance Provide product and technical expertise at FAT testing and within the shop environment Support compliance with applicable codes and standards Support GridSure applications in the field and remotely Meet project schedules and milestone dates Verify drawing packages prior to release Coordinate documentation across internal UIG teams Resolve outstanding design questions or issues Continuously improve processes and workflows Communicate clearly with engineers, drafters, and manufacturing personnel orally in English Maintain schedules, ensuring the Engineering team stays on track Own program-level design and support efforts Required Qualifications 5+ years commissioning power systems, generators, switchgear, and controls Strong experience with Volvo diesel generators Experience with MES/SCADA, PLCs, and industrial networks Familiarity with industrial protocols, including Modbus, Profinet/Profibus, CANopen, J1939, EtherCAT, and MQTT Strong experience with generators and power system controllers Experience with switchgear and generator packaging Experience with UL (or equivalent) standards and NEC requirements Knowledge of IP addressing and networking information Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills Proficiency with communication tools such as Modscan, Modbus Poll, Wireshark, NMap (or similar) Experience with industrial automation platforms such as TIA Portal, Crimson 3, Proficy, and protective relays Experience with Siemens Siprotec 5, ABB REx, SEL-300/600/700 Ability to interact with peers and management Ability to travel up to 55% Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficient in MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with Volvo Vodia software Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawing sets Knowledge of electrical and mechanical symbols and terminology Comfortable working around electrical testing and industrial processes Ability to work around electrical testing and industrial processes Ability to inspect in-process work and access elevated and low-clearance equipment Ability to lift or move materials up to ~40 lbs Ability to work in hot and cold environments Ability to bend, lift, squat, and stand for extended periods Work Environment Primarily office-based, with regular interaction at manufacturing facilities, construction sites, and live industrial process environments as needed.
