Location: Huntsville, Alabama (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) for new cloud technologies. This role involves leading a team of security professionals in implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle for IT systems. The position requires a candidate who can serve as a principal technical advisor on cybersecurity and support both classified and unclassified work. This role is contingent on contract-award and would require a letter of intent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of security professionals responsible for the end-to-end implementation of the RMF lifecycle.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities to define and maintain roles, responsibilities, and risk management strategies.
  • Guide system categorization efforts based on mission impact and regulatory requirements.
  • Advise on the selection, tailoring, and documentation of security controls.
  • Oversee the implementation of technical, operational, and management controls.
  • Ensure comprehensive security control assessments are planned, executed, and documented.
  • Prepare risk management documentation for system authorization and decision-making.
  • Direct ongoing monitoring and continuous assessment activities.
  • Serve as a principal technical advisor on cybersecurity for risk analysis, incident response, and system remediation.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness through technical guidance and training.
  • Track, report, and communicate status, risks, and improvement opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RMF, NIST guidance, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance as a condition or continuation of employment.

Experience:

  • 8 years of experience in secure design, analysis, and testing of information security systems and products.
  • 8 years of experience applying methods and standards for implementing and documenting baseline security safeguards.
  • 8 years of experience creating and updating security test plans to detect and mitigate risks.

Certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud security certification or cloud engineering/security experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience supporting federal law enforcement, intelligence, defense, or other cleared federal environments.
  • Experience with federal Security Assessment and Authorization and Risk Management Framework processes.
  • Experience with GRC tools such as Xacta, CSAM, or JCAM.
  • Experience with vulnerability and security tools such as Tenable/Nessus, SecurityCenter, Splunk, Guardium, or WebInspect.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $160,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually. A comprehensive benefits package is available to eligible employees.
