Job Summary


The Senior IT Engineer designs and manages systems architectures across Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, ensuring integration and efficiency while implementing best practices in security and compliance. This role involves conducting research on emerging technologies, triaging issues, automating processes, and monitoring IT components for continuous availability. The ideal candidate will manage incident resolution, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and utilize tools like ServiceNow to track changes and adhere to change management processes.


Role Description


+ Design and manage systems architectures, ensuring integration and efficiency across Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.

+ Conduct research on emerging technologies and provide recommendations to management for potential adoption.

+ Perform triage on issues, offer technical solutions, and maintain awareness of software releases and updates.

+ Implement best practices in security, governance, and compliance across infrastructure environments.

+ Develop and execute scripts for automation of repetitive processes to enhance operational efficiency.

+ Monitor IT components and applications for trend analysis and ensure continuous availability.

+ Utilize ticketing systems like ServiceNow to manage and track issues and changes.

+ Adhere to change management processes to minimize disruptions during system changes or upgrades.

+ Represent the team in major incident management, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolutions.

+ Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering their technical development.

Skill Level Requirements


+ Ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex problems to stakeholders across various functions and levels. - Intermediate

+ Expertise in leveraging cloud-based platforms and services to build, deploy, and manage applications and data on the internet - Intermediate

+ Experience in managing and maintaining computer systems and networks to ensure optimal performance and security. - Intermediate

+ Familiarity with tools such as Puppet, KernelCare, Tenable, and/or Tanium for automating and managing cloud environments. - Intermediate

+ Understanding of directory services such as Active Directory and LDAP for efficient user and resource management. - Intermediate

+ Ability to implement and manage DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and monitoring to enhance the collaboration between development and operations teams preferred - Intermediate


Other Requirements


+ Completed Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant work experience required

+ 3-5 years of experience with scripting and automation; Bash, Python, PowerShell preferred

+ 3-5 years of experience managing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux operating systems


The estimated annual pay range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
