Role Summary:
  • As a Sr. Network Implementation Engineer within the Core IP Planning & Implementation organization.
  • You will be responsible for working on Customer IP and Ethernet Data networks for Enterprise and Government clients.
  • The role involves deployment of Network Routers, Switches, Servers, probes, and Security appliances across Gateways, Data Centers, and large customer locations.
  • You will also configure and manage network protocols on Customer CORE IP / Data Network devices.

Main Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced engineering and telecommunications principles to solve complex networking challenges.
  • Act as a lead for cross-functional teams to improve processes, workflows, and drive efficiency within the business.
  • Analyze complex LAN/WAN network systems and customer environments including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting protocol suites and configurations.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of difficult interoperability problems across multiple platforms.
  • Evaluate, define, and standardize methods, procedures, and configurations for network elements.
  • Troubleshoot network-related issues during change management windows while coordinating with field operations technicians at remote sites.
  • Collaborate with vendor technical support (Nokia, Cisco, Juniper TAC) to open, track, and close cases related to network configuration and hardware issues.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven ability to deploy solutions across multiple technology areas.
  • Deep knowledge of protocol turn-up (ISIS, BGP, OSPF, MPLS/RSVP) and services configurations (L3VPN/VPLS) on Cisco, Juniper, Nokia platforms.
  • Expertise in hardware/software upgrades and troubleshooting ISIS, BGP, OSPF, MPLS-TE, RSVP on major routing/switching platforms.

Working Knowledge:
  • Key protocols: RSVP, MPLS, ISIS, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, STP.
  • Routing & switching operations across Cisco IOS, JUNOS, and Nokia TiMOS.

Hands-on Experience with:
  • Juniper MX, M, and PTX series
  • Cisco and Nokia IP platforms
  • Familiarity with HTML, Windows OS, Linux/UNIX systems, and basic server administration.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Certifications are an advantage but not required (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS or equivalent).
