We are looking to hire a Sr. Logistics Specialist in the city of Long Beach, CA. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity to join a growing Manufacturing company! 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Logistics Specialist to manage domestic and cross-border freight, primarily focused on shipments to and from Canada. This is a hands-on role responsible for coordinating shipments, maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring deliveries, and resolving delays.

Position Details

• Fully Onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Salary: $73,000–$83,000 annually ($35.10–$39.90/hour)
• Eligible for an annual performance bonus
• No direct reports

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Canada-focused freight and domestic shipment documentation.
• Track shipments from pickup through final delivery.
• Proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, customs issues, and carrier problems.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and trade compliance teams.
• Prepare and review documents such as commercial invoices and bills of lading.
• Track carrier performance and on-time delivery KPIs.
• Recommend improvements to reduce costs and improve delivery performance.

Required Experience

• High school diploma and at least five years of logistics, freight forwarding, transportation management, or 3PL experience.
• Strong domestic and international shipping knowledge, ideally involving Canada.
• Experience managing shipping and customs documentation.
• Strong urgency, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred

• Freight forwarder or 3PL background.
• TMS or ERP experience.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping regulations.
• Medical device, consumer products, or beauty industry experience.
