Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports. Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects.Impact of the RoleGeneral ProfileManages professional employees and/or supervisorsMust have at least one professional expert or one supervisor as a direct reportHas accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialtyAdapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challengesDecisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from managerProvides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customersConsistent exercise of discretion & judgmentEssential FunctionsManages accounting staff in daily operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting.Oversees calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records.Ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.Establishes and implements productivity and quality standards.Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.Required QualificationsRequired education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or ExperienceCritical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Preferred QualificationsPreferred education and experience: Bachelor's DegreeDiscipline/Major: Business, Finance or Accounting degree preferred.Knowledge, skills & abilities: Account Reconciliation.
