MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / COMPETENCIES

Position Summary

The Sr. Manager, Clinical Software Product Management serves as the business owner for the company''''s ophthalmic interactive software platform, supporting physicians, clinics, and internal stakeholders. This role acts as the primary liaison between customers, Commercial, R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and IT to ensure software solutions meet customer needs, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership

  • Serve as the business owner for ophthalmic interactive software applications.
  • Define and prioritize software enhancements, defect resolution, and new functionality.
  • Maintain the product roadmap in alignment with customer and business needs.
  • Monitor software performance and customer-reported issues to drive continuous improvement.

Customer & Clinical Engagement

  • Partner with physicians, clinics, distributors, and internal stakeholders to gather feedback and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Translate customer needs and business requirements into product enhancements.
  • Support customer training, adoption, and ongoing product success.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and IT Software Quality, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Customer Support throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to prioritize enhancements, resolve issues, and support product releases.
  • Communicate product priorities, progress, and performance to leadership.

Quality & Compliance

  • Support software validation, change control, and documentation activities.
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory Affairs to maintain compliance with FDA and applicable global regulations.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory activities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Bachelor''''s degree in Ophthalmology, Clinical Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of experience in ophthalmology, medical devices, healthcare software, or related industries.
  • Experience working with software products, software implementations, or digital health solutions.
  • Experience working within FDA-regulated environments.

Preferred

  • Clinical ophthalmology experience (Ophthalmic Technician, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Surgical Coordinator, Clinical Trainer, etc.).
  • Product management experience in medical device or healthcare software environments.
  • Experience with FDA software regulations, design controls, and software validation.
  • Experience supporting SaaS, cloud-based, or medical device software platforms.

SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of ophthalmic clinical workflows and physician practice environments.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

Pay range: $170K - $230 K - Final compensation will depend on experience.
