MANAGER, ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETYThis position requires a dedicated processsafety professional who will be able to use their skill, knowledge and experience to further our Environmental Health and Safety programs within our fast-paced work environment that includes operations that have never been attempted before!RESPONSIBILITIESManage the day-to-day and long-term activities/priorities of the process safety and EHS team which will include a combination of technicians, specialists and engineersCoordinatewith site leadership to ensure appropriate process safety involvement in department development/modification plans and procedure developmentRepresent the EHS department at site wide management meetings/briefingsProvide instructional guidance of job assignments, correct procedures and applicable techniques to perform specific skills; ensure accuracy and completionEnsure mission and values are communicated to the team and are integrated within team goals, objectives, and work tasksImplement all aspects of an occupational safety program, including processes, programs and documentation outlined by OSHA standardsEvaluate equipment overpressure/overtemperature scenarios and reaction hazardsImplement a Process Safety Management (PSM) program and ensure compliance with all pillars of PSMCoordinate with and serve as the main point of contact for local resource agenciesBASIC REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree7+ years of experience in the design, development, and general operational oversight of EHS disciplines3+ years of EHS management experience or 5+ years of experience at SpaceX as an EHS EngineerPREFERRED REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis inprocess safety,chemical engineering, environmental engineering or system safety engineeringExperience working in aerospace industryExperience leading a team of process safety engineers and techniciansAdvanced knowledge of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment datasheets, instrumentation diagrams, etc.Experience with reviewing safety control circuits and calculating safety performance levelsExperience with design and commissioning of process systems for hydrofluoric acid, strong acids and bases, pyrophoric and flammable gasesAdvanced understanding of industry codes, standards, and practices such as ASME, NFPA, ANSI, IBC/IFC, RAGAGEP, etc.Knowledge of quality tools such as lean manufacturing principles, statistical process control, root cause analysis and corrective action, process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and various problem-solving approachesADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSThis is not a remote position and will require relocation if not already local to the Bastrop, TX areaPosition occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when neededPosition is subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testingITAR REQUIREMENTSTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. * 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. * 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
