Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you can make a meaningful impact on your career while helping transform the finance industry. We value innovative thinking, creative problem solving, and challenging the status quo.

Reference Data Platform Strategy & Support is at the forefront of enabling how clients manage their financial lives through modern, scalable, and reliable technology platforms. As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategy, adoption, and measurable impact of enterprise data platforms that power business decisions and client experiences.

In this role, you will serve as a strategic product leader for Schwab Reference Data platform capabilities, operating at the intersection of business strategy, data, and technology. You will define vision, shape multi-year strategy and roadmaps, and drive adoption of data platforms that improve usability, enable better decision-making, and deliver measurable business value. This role requires someone who can translate complex business needs into scalable platform solutions, align priorities across stakeholders, and ensure investments generate meaningful outcomes and ROI.

You will partner closely with senior leaders, engineering teams, analysts, and platform users to bring clarity to complex problems, influence direction, and move initiatives from concept through execution. Success in this role requires strong executive communication, the ability to simplify technical concepts for business audiences, and comfort working across both strategic planning and firsthand delivery. You will lead working sessions, support prioritization and decision-making, manage risks and dependencies, and establish the rhythms, metrics, and stakeholder engagement needed to advance platform initiatives. As a subject matter leader for assigned platforms, you will help bridge business and technical teams, strengthen adoption, and continuously improve platform value across the enterprise.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and expect the selected candidate to work on site in the specified location(s).

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, business systems, software delivery, or related technology role.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and make sound decisions in a challenging environment.
  • Ability in translating business needs into well-defined data products, including defining product vision, target users, use cases, data domains, and required capabilities in partnership with business, analytics, and engineering teams.
  • Lead product discovery and prioritization by facilitating structured working sessions to identify high-value use cases, assess feasibility, and sequence delivery based on impact, dependencies, and organizational readiness.
  • Developing epics and user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and ensuring alignment between business intent and technical implementation.
  • Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap for IT products, platforms, or business systems.
  • Driving execution and delivery discipline by maintaining road maps, backlogs, and dependencies in JIRA and Confluence and Rally, while actively managing risks, tradeoffs, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Championing adoption and value realization by working with business partners to enable onboarding, track usage and outcomes, and continuously iterate on products based on feedback and performance insights.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, safety standards and knowledge of data privacy, security, compliance, and change management considerations in technology environments.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for assigned data platforms or domains, helping business teams understand how to leverage data products to advance analytical and operational needs.
  • Manage escalations, resolve team conflicts, and foster a professional, inclusive work environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional technology teams in Agile, Scrum, or similar delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, backlog prioritization, roadmap planning, and requirements gathering.

  • Proficiency with standard business software and reporting tools.
  • Background in technical product management, business analysis, systems implementation, or software engineering.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Rally, Bruno, Co-Pilot or other AI tools or product analytics platforms.
