DESCRIPTION:
As a Senior Manufacturing Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll manage manufacturing operations that support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This leadership role involves directing manufacturing teams across various product lines while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. You'll guide strategic initiatives, implement continuous improvement methodologies, and develop high-performing teams that deliver effective solutions for our customers worldwide. Through cross-functional collaboration, you'll enhance manufacturing processes, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability. This role offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to global healthcare, scientific research, and environmental protection through advanced manufacturing operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Lead daily manufacturing operations teams for EPM product lines, ensuring production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained
Conduct daily production meetings with shift supervisors and cross-functional teams to review metrics, address challenges, and align on priorities
Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and implement process optimizations for EPM products
Manage workforce planning, including staffing levels, training needs, and performance development for your manufacturing teams
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
Manage departmental budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in manufacturing operations management, with 5+ years leading teams
• Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Chemistry, or related technical field
• Six Sigma, PMP, or other relevant professional certifications highly valued
• Demonstrated experience in regulated environments (ISO 9001)
• Strong track record of implementing continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PPI)
• Expert knowledge of manufacturing KPIs, productivity metrics, and financial management
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic operational plans
• Experience managing budgets and driving cost optimization initiatives
• Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated success in team development
• Excellence in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Expertise in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Success in adapting to changing priorities
• Experience with change management and process optimization
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Willingness to travel as required (<15%)
