    Job Description

This role leads the team that defines how HR professionals across Amazon support 1.8 million employees in 60+ countries. The scope is unlike most product roles: one platform, thousands of HR users, and problems that span dozens of languages, cultures, and moments that matter in people"s lives.

This Senior Manager of Product Management owns the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the platforms that HR professionals use every day to respond to, manage, and resolve employee HR requests across all of Amazon. The team includes Product Managers and UX Designers who work backwards from HR professionals and employees to decide what gets built, validate it at scale, and ship it.

The work spans AI-enabled case management, intelligent workflow automation, proactive issue detection, and tools that help HR professionals spend more of their time on the moments that matter most to employees.

    Key job responsibilities

Own the end-to-end product strategy and multi-year roadmap for the HR platforms portfolio, ensuring alignment with PXT organizational goals and the broader HR support mission

Lead the platform convergence program, sequencing the unification of legacy HR systems into a single modern platform while maintaining uninterrupted service delivery for 19,000+ active users

Shape how AI is applied across the portfolio, identifying where it creates the most value for HR professionals and employees, and building the products that put it to work

Define and own success metrics that reflect what matters: employee experience (resolution quality, single-contact resolution, self-service rate), HR professional experience (research time, system complexity, time to resolution), and platform health (adoption, reliability, quality)

Manage a team of product managers across multiple product lines, developing PM talent and building a high-judgment product culture

Navigate complex stakeholder relationships across 10+ partner teams where priority shifts, resource constraints, or misalignment create cascading impacts

Represent the portfolio in executive business reviews and planning cycles, translating technical progress into business outcomes for VP and SVP audiences

Make high-judgment prioritization tradeoffs across competing demands: platform convergence vs. feature delivery, AI investment vs. reliability, global expansion vs. depth in existing markets

Champion the voice of the customer by conducting regular site visits and direct engagement with Line HR, Central HR teams, and field PXT professionals

Partner with engineering leadership to manage capacity allocation across 50+ SDEs, ensuring the right balance between platform delivery, innovation, and operational excellence

    About the team

This team sits within Amazon"s People eXperience and Technology (PXT) organization and is responsible for the platforms that HR professionals across Amazon use every day to support employees. The team builds and evolves the tools that power how HR requests are received, managed, and resolved across 60+ countries.

The product management team works alongside UX designers, software engineers, data scientists, and applied scientists. On any given day, the work might involve defining the product vision for a new AI-enabled capability, reviewing research from site visits with HR professionals, aligning priorities across 10+ partner teams, or presenting a roadmap to senior leadership. The team operates at the intersection of complex enterprise software, applied AI, and deeply human problems. Every HR interaction starts with an employee who needs help with something that matters to them. Getting it right matters.

The culture is direct, low-ego, and biased toward shipping. The team values clarity over complexity, evidence over intuition, and customer obsession that starts with showing up where HR professionals do their work. This is a team that builds products for people who spend their days helping other people.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
