General position summary:

The Sr. Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) application, which is critical to the success of our Contract Logistics Line of Service. This role bridges business vision, strategy and technological execution, driving the end-to-end product lifecycle for WMS initiatives and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The Director serves as the authoritative subject matter expert and liaison across operations, IT, and external partners, advocating for scalable, innovative, and value-driven warehouse management solutions. Accountability spans from high-level strategy and system architecture to stakeholder engagement, implementation, execution and sustainable operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Define, own, and communicate the strategic vision, strategy and roadmap for the product suite, ensuring alignment with enterprise supply chain objectives and future growth opportunities.
  • Lead a team of subject matter experts in the WMS space and ensure all are well-versed in the business strategy of the business being supported.
  • Prioritize the product backlog, overseeing both the development and deployment of new features, system enhancements, and integrations with enterprise platforms.
  • Drive market and user research initiatives, maintaining a deep understanding of warehouse operations, industry trends, robotics, process automation, artificial intelligence and customer needs to inform feature design and long-term strategy.
  • Actively participate in User Groups to ensure we understand the strategy and future direction of applications deployed in the Company.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal business partners, operational leaders, and external clients, serving as the "voice of the customer" and championing user-centric design and innovation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software development and infrastructure teams to translate business requirements into scalable, robust technology solutions on the WMS platform.
  • Monitor and communicate progress to stakeholders, providing executive-level updates, risk assessments, and "Go To Green" plans for critical project milestones.
  • Oversee WMS product release planning and system upgrades, setting stakeholder expectations for delivery timelines and change management initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the Operations Managers and senior leadership to maintain a prioritized, value-driven product backlog and to develop robust business cases for new WMS investments.
  • Actively remove roadblocks and secure cross-functional support to accelerate delivery and adoption of the WMS solutions.
  • Continually analyze business processes, gather operational requirements, and recommend enhancements to drive warehouse efficiency, scalability, profitability, Operational Excellence and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Support the Sales and Account Management teams by presenting WMS capabilities and the technology roadmap to current and prospective clients, differentiating our WMS solution in the marketplace.

Job Skills Required:

  • Strategic visionary with a track record of delivering transformative warehouse and supply chain solutions.
  • Proven leadership experience in cross-functional product and technology teams, with a focus on WMS platforms (Korber preferred).
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels, including executive leadership and client C-suite.
  • Highly analytical mindset with strong business acumen and expertise in warehouse process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Deep knowledge of Agile processes and principles, and ability to instill Agile best practices in large, distributed teams.
  • Expertise in developing and interpreting user journey maps, personas, and business process documents for warehouse operations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; adept at managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders (IT, operations, leadership, vendors, and clients).

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, computer science, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager for transportation and/or final‑mile delivery technology (routing/dispatch, delivery visibility, proof of delivery, customer communications, or last‑mile platforms).
  • Minimum at least 5 years in a manager
  • Certification in Product Ownership, PMP or Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the transportation and final‑mile product lifecycle, delivery operations, and industry best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of relevant transportation technologies (TMS/OMS integrations, carrier/3PL connectivity, route optimization, mobile delivery applications, telematics, and customer tracking platforms).
  • Experience working with distributed and remote teams, as well as direct client engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance in all deliverables.

Travel:

  • Up to 25% travel required to delivery sites/terminals, client sites, carrier/3PL partner locations, vendor meetings, and industry conferences.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Operations:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and effectively use software applications such as move management, accounting/billing, HRIS (Human Resources Information System), timekeeping and other applications used in the performance of job duties.

Planning/Organization:

  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workday
  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work

  • Hybrid office/field environment; periodic visits to active delivery operations required for implementation, training, user feedback, and stakeholder engagement.
