Position Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and sustaining manufacturing processes for modular power, electrical, and mission critical infrastructure systems. This role leads initiatives focused on process optimization, workstation design, tooling development, and production standardization to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has experience in complex electromechanical assembly or modular manufacturing environments and works closely with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement and scalable production processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Design Engineering teams to identify and mitigate Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFMA) risks during product development.
  • Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes for assembly, integration, and testing operations.
  • Review shop drawings and engineering documentation to ensure alignment with workstation layouts, build sequencing, and production workflows.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, jigs, and material-handling solutions to improve safety, efficiency, and process repeatability.
  • Support development and refinement of Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and ERP-driven production workflows.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives including value stream mapping, standard work development, line balancing, and flow optimization.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process validation records, and control plans.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to improve First Pass Yield (FPY), reduce defects, and optimize cycle times.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using methodologies such as DMAIC, 8D, and 5-Why to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Support pilot builds, process validation activities, and production readiness efforts for new product launches.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering.
  • Experience working in modular construction, prefabrication, mission critical infrastructure, or complex electromechanical assembly environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with workstation design, line layouts, ergonomics, and assembly sequencing.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems for BOM management, routings, and production tracking.
  • Strong understanding of DFM/DFMA methodologies, GD&T, and engineering drawing standards.
  • Proficiency with CAD software to support process layouts, tooling concepts, and manufacturing integration.
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives with measurable operational results.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting data center, power infrastructure, or mission critical manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with electrical assemblies, modular systems, or integrated power solutions.
  • Background in high-volume or highly standardized manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with process validation, pilot builds, and scalable production implementation.
