Sr. Manufacturing Technician
Location: Portland, OR 97224
Contract: 6 months, possible extension
Pay Rate: $37.27/hr
Shift:
1st Shift: Monday Thursday, 4:00 AM 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: Monday Thursday, 2:30 PM 1:00 AM

Position Summary:
Provides technical support for equipment used in manufacturing areas repairing, maintaining, and modifying production equipment using technical manuals, schematic drawings, precision tools, and test equipment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Respond to assembly line equipment repair calls diagnose equipment problems and perform the necessary repairs.
  • Document equipment qualifications and upgrades to existing machines, including preventative maintenance performed and parts used, maintaining accurate repair history in the MP2 maintenance database.
  • Maintain back-up equipment and ensure spare parts are stocked at required levels to meet manufacturing equipment needs.
  • Assist industrial, manufacturing, and quality engineers in the operation of equipment.
  • Provide equipment development engineers with feedback on equipment issues and suggestions for improving equipment uptime.
  • Assist in the construction of worktables, providing necessary utilities, and setting up equipment on manufacturing assembly lines.
  • Modify existing assembly lines or workstations as required to accommodate manufacturing demands.
  • Mentor less senior employees within the work group and offer counsel.
  • Plan and organize non-routine tasks with approval; initiate and maintain work schedules; establish priorities of work assignments.
  • Solve a wide range of complex problems requiring advanced interpretation of generally defined procedures and practices.
  • Select methods and practices to obtain thorough and practical solutions.
  • Maintain general knowledge of products and services associated with the area and the employees involved with specific product lines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience: Minimum 4 years of related experience. May require a license or certification in the area of expertise.
  • Applies extensive knowledge of advanced technical concepts and practices, with a complete understanding of product or system fundamentals in a functional area and working knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Utilizes and interprets advanced numerical and statistical data and computer software programs to present documentation and analysis and resolve complex problems.
  • Performs this job in a quality system environment failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
  • Performs complex technical assignments, typically without established procedures.
  • Assists in the design, development, evaluation, or modification of area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and products.
  • May determine types of tests or develop preventative maintenance plans.
  • Assignments require considerable judgment, initiative, creativity, and leadership in troubleshooting, suggesting alternatives, and recommending continuous quality improvement methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medical device experience preferred, but not required.
