Lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for fabricated and welded assemblies. Serve as the subject matter expert for welding methods, procedures, codes, and best practices. Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and production scalability. Develop, qualify, and refine welding procedures across a variety of welding technologies. Design tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions that improve consistency and reduce distortion. Support automation initiatives, including robotic and automated welding systems. Partner with engineering teams to improve manufacturability during product development. Troubleshoot production challenges and implement sustainable corrective actions. Collaborate with quality teams to establish inspection and testing standards. Evaluate supplier capabilities and support make-versus-buy decisions. Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process standards. Champion continuous improvement through Lean manufacturing principles and data-driven decision making.

Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, welding engineering, or related environments. Strong understanding of welding processes including GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, laser welding, and advanced welding technologies. Experience developing and qualifying weld procedures and supporting code-compliant manufacturing. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T. Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems and manufacturing process development. Experience with automated or robotic welding systems. Proven track record applying Lean manufacturing and root cause problem-solving methodologies. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams. Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, or specialty alloys.
