Sr Marketing Development Manager

Job Description

This growth-oriented, manager-level role owns and drives digital marketing, service line marketing, and trade show/event strategy for a global CDMO business. The successful candidate will serve as the primary strategic marketing lead partnering with commercial leadership, business development teams, and external agencies to execute campaigns and customer engagement initiatives across regions. The role carries budget ownership and decision-making authority across digital, service line, and event marketing, with strong potential to build and lead a team as the function scales.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Marketing - Own SEO, GEO, paid media, email, and website strategy; analyze performance to guide budget decisions; manage agency relationships

Service Line Marketing - Lead go-to-market strategy per service line; own capability decks and customer-facing collateral; drive account-based marketing

Trade Shows & Events - Co-lead end-to-end event execution (budget, ROI, booth strategy, vendor negotiation) in partnership with BD

Commercial Content & Engagement - Drive customer campaigns, collateral, blogs, and webinars tied to commercial priorities

Cross-Functional Leadership - Coordinate globally across teams/agencies; own market/competitor intelligence; champion AI-enabled marketing tools

Qualifications:

Bachelor''s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or related (MBA a plus)

7+ years in B2B/commercial/digital marketing with proven program and budget ownership

Pharma, biotech, healthcare, or CDMO experience preferred, including trade show portfolio management

Strong leadership and stakeholder influence skills; CRM/marketing automation/AI tool proficiency a plus

JOB OVERVIEW:

Own and drive digital marketing, service line marketing, and trade show/event strategy for a growing global CDMO business. The role will lead planning and execution across marketing programs in close partnership with commercial leadership, business development teams, and external agencies.

This role will serve as the primary driver and owner across the global strategic marketing and commercial teams, leading collaboration, campaign execution, and customer engagement initiatives across regions, with direct accountability for digital channel performance, service line go-to-market plans, and in collaboration on global trade show/event calendar.

This is a growth-oriented, manager-level role with budget ownership and decision-making authority across digital, service line, and event marketing. The position carries strong potential to build and lead a small team as the strategic marketing function scales.

EXPERIENCE:

• Proven ability to lead and drive B2B and commercial marketing strategy, not just support execution
• Experience leading digital marketing campaigns (SEO, GEO, paid media, email) and owning service line/product marketing strategy and customer engagement programs
• Proven experience leading trade shows and industry events end-to-end, including budget ownership, vendor negotiation, and ROI measurement
• Experience leading cross-functional and global teams, including agencies and external partners, as well as budget management of these activities preferred
• Strong track record developing customer-facing marketing materials, sales enablement content, and service line collateral preferred

QUALIFATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA a plus
• 7+ years of experience in B2B marketing, commercial marketing, or digital marketing, with demonstrated ownership of programs and budgets
• Experience in pharma, biotech, healthcare, CDMO, or other B2B industries preferred, including managing a trade show/event portfolio
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Proficiency with CRM, marketing automation, and AI-enabled marketing tools is a plus

Digital Marketing Leadership

• Own and drive SEO, GEO, paid media, email marketing, and website strategy to build brand visibility and generate qualified leads
• Analyze campaign, engagement, and website performance metrics to guide budget allocation and continuous optimization
• Lead and manage relationships with external digital marketing and creative agencies

Service Line Marketing

• Develop and lead go-to-market marketing strategy for each service line, partnering with service line and BD leaders on positioning
• Own capability decks, brochures, and customer-facing presentations across service lines and sites
• Drive account-based marketing initiatives and commercial campaigns aligned to pipeline priorities

Trade Shows & Event Marketing

• Co-lead end-to-end planning and execution of trade shows, industry conferences, and customer events, including budget and ROI tracking
• Own the trade show calendar, booth strategy, and pre/post-event campaigns in partnership with business development
• Manage vendor, venue, and agency negotiations to optimize event spend and impact

Commercial Content & Customer Engagement

• Lead customer engagement campaigns tied to key commercial priorities and milestones
• Drive development of marketing collateral, blogs, webinars, and technical content in partnership with SMEs
• Partner with business development on customer outreach tied to commercial campaigns and events

Cross-Functional Leadership & Market Intelligence

• Lead cross-functional coordination across global regions, internal teams, and agency partners to ensure timely execution
• Own customer, competitor, and market research initiatives that inform commercial strategy
• Champion adoption of digital marketing and AI-enabled commercial engagement tools; mentor team members as the function scales
