Job Description
As a Senior Material Handler, you will make an impact by ensuring the accurate, compliant, and timely movement of materials and finished goods that support production and on-time customer deliveries. Through careful staging, packaging, inventory control, and export documentation will help reduce errors, prevent delays, and maintain high quality and safety standards. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and serving as a reliable distribution representative, your work will contribute to operational efficiency and help Thermo Fisher Scientific deliver solutions that advance science and improve lives.

What will you do?
As a Senior Material Handler, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate, efficient movement and shipment of materials and finished goods.
Key responsibilities include:
Pick, pull, and stage finished goods for shipment of completed systems.
Ensure all Work Order components, supplies, labels, subassemblies, and products are correctly labeled, including export compliance requirements.
Prepare export shipments, including Commercial Invoice generation, packing slips, and EIN documentation, while working cross-functionally with the Trade Compliance team.
Receive and distribute materials to appropriate locations (IQC, purchase requestor, stockroom).
Provide receiving, stocking, packaging, and shipping support as business needs require.
Maintain and organize the stockroom and other assigned material storage areas.
Perform daily cycle counts of material locations and report results or discrepancies to the Inventory Clerk.
Support packaging material replenishment for small parcel shipments.
Load and unload crates using a forklift.
Participate in and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
Serve as a key Distribution team representative during weekly spares segment status meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned. (This list is not intended to be exhaustive.)

How will you get here?
Education
Experience
At least 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment logistics, or a manufacturing environment.
Experience operating forklifts (required).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility in a changing environment.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
Effective verbal communication skills.
Basic mathematical proficiency.
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, including safety manuals, SOPs, and work instructions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet or database tools.
Experience using ERP systems (manual and integrated); Intuitive system navigation preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 lbs or more.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $25.00–$29.00.
