DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Materials Planner at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing supply chain processes and ensuring seamless manufacturing operations. You'll provide strategic guidance over supply chain management, coordinating the timely delivery of materials that support manufacturing and assembly processes. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining data integrity in our ERP system, managing inventory levels, and establishing effective shipping schedules.

In this role, you'll analyze inventory forecasts, consistently maximize manufacturing utilization, and oversee critical processes including cycle counts and engineering changes. You'll have the opportunity to directly impact operational efficiency by minimizing inventory carrying costs while ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demands, as well as optimizing operational resources. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with ERP systems (preferrable SAP) in materials coordination
  • Deep experience in capacity planning and manufacturing alignment
  • Exposure to S&OP process and execution
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes
  • Experience coordinating with different operational counterparts (like Manufacturing, Procurement, NPI) preferrable.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing materials organization
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables and macros for data analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify potential supply chain issues
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and pricing negotiations
  • Expertise in inventory forecasting and demand planning
  • Ability to reconcile cycle counts and manage non-conforming materials inventory
  • Knowledge of engineering change management processes
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $92,900.00-$139,325.00.
