What To Expect Tesla's Factory Engineering team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in building our Texas Gigafactory. Help create and optimize the factory of the future by bringing conceptual designs to life, producing cutting‑edge detailed design of mechanical systems and other factory utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing processes. This permanent, full‑time position is in Austin, TX.What You'll Do Mechanical system engineering design from conceptual design through construction administrationCoordinating with multiple disciplines to ensure projects are delivered within budget and scheduleResearch and contribute with innovative and traditional ideas to solve challenging and difficult engineering problemsProvide basis of design, sequence of operation and design contract drawingsCoordinate design between different disciplines and perform construction administration to ensure correct installationWhat You'll Bring 7+ years' experience designing and or construction of HVAC or industrial mechanical systemsKnowledge in chiller plant, boiler plant, piping and ductwork design, HVAC load calculations, and industrial exhaust system design.
