Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing Design – Commercial & Industrial)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established design-build organization specializing in commercial and industrial projects. This role is responsible for leading mechanical design efforts for HVAC and plumbing systems, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions for complex projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative design-build environment and wants to play a key role in the successful delivery of large-scale projects.
Pay: $100k – $130k DOE
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering design for commercial and industrial projects
- Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Design and support HVAC and plumbing systems from concept through construction
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and clients
- Participate in design and construction coordination meetings
- Provide value engineering recommendations to help maintain project budgets
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including IMC, UPC, and ASHRAE
- Conduct occasional site visits to support project execution and resolve field issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience
- Strong experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Revit
- Familiarity with IMC, UPC, and ASHRAE standards
- PE license preferred
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
- Experience in a design-build, consulting engineering, or MEP environment preferred
