Design Hire is seeking a Sr Mechanical Engineer that will contribute to diverse projects, including new construction and building renovation projects, while working closely with professionals across multiple disciplines. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to combine technical expertise, project leadership, and client development in a team that values high-quality engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Lead HVAC Design efforts and develop integrated mechanical solutions for complex building projects from initial concepts through final delivery.
Prepare and oversee Construction Documents, Engineering Reports, technical specifications, and other project deliverables while maintaining design quality and consistency.
Perform Mechanical Systems Analysis, Design Option Analysis, and Cost-Benefit Analysis to evaluate alternatives and recommend effective project solutions.
Direct Construction Administration activities, coordinate field issues, and collaborate with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout project execution.
Provide Mechanical Project Management, including Project Scheduling, Project Financial Management, Proposal Writing, and Business Development activities.
Qualifications
10+ years of Professional A/E Experience with increasing responsibility in mechanical engineering and building design.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
Advanced knowledge of Plumbing Design, Fire Protection Design, Process Piping Systems, and other building mechanical systems.
Experience supporting Building Renovation Projects and complex Multi-Discipline Design assignments.
Demonstrated Mechanical Engineering Leadership with the ability to mentor engineers, coordinate technical teams, and provide project direction.
Strong understanding of applicable mechanical codes, industry standards, building requirements, and engineering best practices.
Strong client communication and relationship-building skills with experience supporting A/E Services, proposals, and long-term Business Development opportunities.
