Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Constellation Search Group is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for a full-time direct hire position. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop efficient and cost-effective power supplies in accordance with customer and regulatory specifications. This role involves thermal/acoustic/vibration design, simulation, 3D board layout, and prototype testing. Collaborating within a team environment will be essential for product development and project success.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop power supplies, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory specifications.
• Collaborate with hardware, electrical, and firmware engineers, as well as program managers, on product development.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and multiple organizational levels.
• Participate in design reviews to improve mechanical and thermal design.
• Exercise engineering judgment to select methods and evaluation criteria for project success.
• Analyze test data and reports to verify that design meets functional and performance specifications.
• Interface with internal departments to meet cost and schedule goals.
• Diagnose design issues, conduct root cause/failure analysis, and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Windows-based platforms, design, and analysis tools; experience with Solidworks, Pro-E, FloThermXT, or FloEFD, ANSYS, and/or Solidworks Simulation is a plus.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership with a responsiveness to work requests and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting schedule requirements and defining priorities.
• Knowledge of engineering concepts, including analytical methods, diagnostic instruments, and test equipment.
• High organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design of power electronics or similar.
• Expertise in 3D Modeling, with SolidWorks preferred.
• Proven track record of product development from concept to production.
• Experience designing for safety, compliance, and thermal management.
