Sigma Design has collaborated with an aerospace company seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Engineer to join their facility in Everett, WA. This company designs human-machine interface products, offering balanced lighting solutions for cockpit needs. This position is a contract to hire position. This role is In-Office

Primary Function:
The Sr. Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, analysis, and integration of complex electro-mechanical systems. This role serves as a technical leader, driving innovative engineering solutions from concept through production while collaborating with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in mechanical system architecture, advanced engineering analysis, and product development within highly regulated industries. This individual is a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and provides technical mentorship to engineering teams.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
Minimum of 15+ years of electro-mechanical design and architecture experience
Demonstrated technical leadership experience at a Senior, Staff, Principal, or equivalent engineering level.
Experience in one or more of the following areas required; experience in multiple areas strongly preferred:
Stress, thermal, and/or fatigue analysis
Aerospace regulations and qualification standards (DO-160 preferred)
Optical engineering and lighting systems
Program and project management
Electronics packaging
Solid modeling and CAD experience required; CREO preferred.
Experience working directly with customers and/or suppliers to resolve technical issues and support product development efforts.
Experience within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
ITAR - Permanent resident of the United States ("U.S. person" as defined by ITAR)
Pass a post-offer background verification and drug screen.
Work Environment
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.
