  • Responsibilities
    1. Model the "safety first" behaviors we expect of all employees by ensuring that operational procedures, equipment, and processes are designed to provide a safe work environment.
    2. Spend the majority of your time (50%+) on the production floor, collaborating daily with operators and maintenance technicians to observe equipment in operation, gather firsthand input, and implement improvements at the point of use. Q1
    3. Troubleshoot a variety of routine to moderately complex production equipment problems. Investigate and determine the root cause of failures and recommend countermeasures. Q2
    4. Design, fabricate, and modify machines, parts, jigs, and fixtures to support new equipment installations, line changes, and continuous improvement projects. Q2
    5. Plan, coordinate, and execute production trials. Define trial conditions, work with production and quality to run them, evaluate the results, and translate findings into process or equipment changes. Q3
    6. Develop equipment layout designs for new installations and line reconfigurations, accounting for material flow, operator access, maintenance clearance, and safety requirements. Q4
    7. Define and specify plant utilities requirements — compressed air, dryers, chilled water, and process water — for new and modified equipment, and coordinate with facilities on capacity and distribution. Q4
    8. Perform capacity studies to establish line and equipment throughput, identify bottlenecks, and support production planning and capital investment decisions. Q5
    9. Produce 2D and 3D mechanical drawings in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks for fabrication, installation, and documentation. Q6

    2. Hands-on equipment troubleshooting and machine fabrication experience.
    3. Production trial experience.
    4. Experience with equipment layout design and plant utilities requirements.
    5. Experience performing capacity studies.
    6. Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks for 2D & 3D mechanical drawing.
