Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer Location: North Reading, MA (100% Onsite) Duration: 12 to 18 month contract Payrate: $75 to $81 per hour on W2
Job Description:
Client is seeking a Sr. Contract Mechanical Engineer to support platform product development for next-generation semiconductor test systems.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical designs within an established team, contributing to design execution, tradeoff analysis, and problem solving. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to support development efforts and ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop and refine mechanical designs of moderate to high complexity
Translate system-level requirements into actionable mechanical solutions
Support design tradeoffs balancing performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost
Independently solve technical problems and escalate risks as needed
Partner with systems, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to align on requirements and constraints
Contribute to design reviews and provide clear technical input
Support project execution including planning, scheduling, and change management
Contribute to platform-level solutions including:
Electromechanical architecture
Precision signal delivery and docking systems
Reliable designs across varying thermal environments
