Summary: We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and take a lead role in the design of mechanical systems for commercial, healthcare, higher education, industrial, and other building projects. This role will work closely with clients, architects, contractors, estimating, and construction teams in a design-build and design-assist environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead mechanical design for a variety of building projects
Develop HVAC systems, including airside and waterside systems
Design and size medical/lab gas and process systems
Develop system requirements, equipment selections, and design criteria
Perform mechanical calculations and system modeling using tools such as Trane TRACE or Carrier HAP
Create and coordinate construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD
Coordinate mechanical designs with other trades and disciplines
Review shop drawings and work with vendors throughout the project
Assist estimating and pre-construction teams with proposals and design-build projects
Work directly with owners, architects, property managers, contractors, and other project stakeholders
Present technical issues to clients and help develop practical solutions
Ensure designs meet applicable building codes and safety standards
Help develop and maintain CAD/BIM standards and design details
Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced engineers and designers
What We’re Looking For
10+ years of mechanical engineering or facilities design experience
Experience with commercial, healthcare, higher education, industrial, or similar projects
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and building codes
Advanced HVAC design experience
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
Experience with Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, or similar calculation/simulation software
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Self-starter who works well independently and with a team
BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree
