Talon has an office in Tucson, AZ that is providing high fidelity computational models/analysis and technical services support to Fortune 500 companies.We are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer in this onsite role, you'll be involved in the design, development, and support of mechanical components and sub-assemblies for tactical missile systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on critical defense technologies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced engineering environment.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and document mechanical components and assemblies in support of tactical missile systems, ensuring alignment with system and customer requirements.Provide engineering support to suppliers and manufacturing facilities-both domestically and internationally-including troubleshooting, product development, and obsolescence management.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing) to develop and validate mechanical design solutions.Participate in design peer reviews, conduct trade studies, and contribute to technical decision-making processes.Support updates to technical data packages (TDPs), variances, and configuration changes.Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles (ANSI/ASME Y14.5) and perform tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability and fit.Work alongside Quality Engineers to support First Article Inspection (FAI) processes.Manage your tasks independently, meeting schedule, technical, and budget commitments with minimal supervision.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
