Sr. Metrology Quality Technician

We’re looking for an experienced Metrology Quality Technician who knows precision measurement inside and out and takes pride in making sure parts are right the first time. This role plays a key part in new product development, inspection strategy, and ensuring measurement systems are accurate, reliable, and production-ready.

You’ll be involved early in the process, reviewing drawings, evaluating GD&T, and helping define how parts will be measured before they ever hit production. If you enjoy solving measurement challenges and working closely with engineering and quality teams, this is a strong fit.

What you’ll do

  • Program and optimize CMMs and vision systems to inspect precision machined parts
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to develop accurate inspection methods
  • Perform part inspections, first article inspections, and validation testing
  • Troubleshoot and refine existing CMM and vision system programs as needed
  • Work closely with Quality Engineering to ensure inspection setups and programs are accurate and repeatable
  • Take and verify critical measurements using advanced metrology tools and fixtures
  • Support new product development by evaluating measurement capability and feasibility
  • Participate in tooling, fixture, and gage improvement projects
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction using Lean principles
  • Provide inspection support across departments and help resolve quality-related questions
  • Train inspectors and technicians on measurement practices and equipment use

What you bring

  • 6+ years in a manufacturing environment focused on precision inspection and metrology
  • Strong hands-on experience with inspection equipment and measurement tools
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T with the ability to interpret complex drawings
  • 4+ years of experience programming CMM systems
  • 4+ years of experience with vision system programming
  • Solid understanding of quality systems and manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with ERP systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities without losing accuracy
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work across engineering, production, and quality teams

Why this role stands out

You’re not just inspecting parts, you’re shaping how they get measured from the start. You’ll have a voice in design reviews, influence inspection strategy, and help ensure high-precision products meet exacting standards before they ever reach the customer.

If you enjoy technical problem-solving, precision work, and being a go-to expert in metrology, this role offers that kind of ownership.
