Description Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to enable our business on a dynamic range of global import and export compliance matters in the Americas. In this role, you will lead a team of trade compliance experts who interact with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Public Policy, Tax, and other internal businesses and external stakeholders to drive trade compliance. This position will be located in Seattle, and will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Global Trade and Product Compliance (GPTC) for AWS, in Seattle. Key job responsibilities - Develop and implement vision for end-to-end controls for AWS trade operations in the Americas and ensure compliance with all regional trade and product compliance regulations - Manage compliance with local regulations, including any import or export licensing and reporting requirements - Develop mechanisms to effectively evaluate transactions for compliance requirements relating to use of information security/encryption technology - Assist with technology, hardware, and software trade classification, including: Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B, and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) - Identify and implement compliant duty/tax savings opportunities in the Americas region - Streamline import/export processes and controls and drive trade compliance solutions that maximize import/export efficiency - Proactively monitor import/export regulatory and procedural changes in the Americas and clearly communicate impact and guidelines to stakeholders - Analyze data and trends related to import/export processing and documentation to identify and implement process improvements - Develop and build highly effective trade compliance team that serve as trusted advisors for stakeholders on trade compliance matters - Generate and contribute to performance metrics for all related activities About the team Diverse Experiences Amazon Security values diverse experiences. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, International Relations, Engineering, or other related fields - 3+ years experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases - 5+ years experience managing multiple internal stakeholders and advising cross-functional teams - 5+ years experience in managing 1 or more teams - 10+ years experience in trade compliance, customs operations, customs brokerage, supply chain, logistics or similar Preferred Qualifications - Speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish - 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience, or a Master's degree and 2+ years of supply chain experience - 5+ years of working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies experience - 5+ years experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership - 3+ years experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
