POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager, Investment Data Operations
DEPARTMENT: Enterprise Data Operations
- POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Data Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field required. Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MS in Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Finance) preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data management, investment operations or investment technology within the financial services industry required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for candidates with solid investment data or data governance expertise.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role required.
- Deep subject¿matter expertise in investment data domains such as securities master, pricing, benchmarks, corporate actions, portfolios, transaction data, and performance inputs preferred
- Experience leading modernization or transformation initiatives, such as implementing master data management solutions a plus
- Background operating in a global, multi¿region data model, supporting multiple asset classes and diverse investment strategies preferred
- Experience using industry-leading MDM solutions required
- High degree of proficiency with MS Office products including Excel, Access, Visio and PowerPoint required
- Experience experiencing using SQL or other database querying tools preferred
- Experience with financial services operational systems and service providers (DST, BNYM, State Street, DTCC, Market Data providers, etc.) preferred
- Experience with large enterprise data platforms or investment systems (e.g., Aladdin, Eagle, Charles River, Bloomberg, Snowflake, Azure) a plus

MAJOR DUTIES:
The Senior Manager of Investment Data Management leads a team responsible for the governance, quality, and stewardship of critical investment data used across the firm. This role partners closely with Front Office, Data Governance, Global Technology Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams to verify that core datasets are accurate, timely, and fit for purposes across the investment lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in data management practices with solid leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing data management team responsible for data governance, stewardship, and operational data processes.
- Define team objectives, establish performance metrics, and advance continuous improvement in data processes and service delivery.
- Drive a culture of accountability, partnership, and customer-centric support.
Data Governance & Stewardship
- Oversee governance frameworks for investment-related datasets, including securities, portfolios, benchmarks, prices, reference data, transactions, performance data, and analytics inputs.
- Confirm data standards, definitions, lineage, and documentation are maintained and consistently applied across the organization.
- Serve as a senior-level data steward and decision-maker for critical data issues, escalations, and remediation priorities.
Data Quality & Controls
- Implement robust data quality monitoring, validation rules, and exception management processes to confirm accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Oversee root-cause analysis and long-term remediation for recurring or material data quality issues.
- Partner with technology teams to enhance automated controls, workflows, and monitoring tools.
Partnership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Portfolio Management, Trading, Risk, Client Reporting, Compliance, and Operations to understand evolving data needs and deliver reliable solutions.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams to prioritize enhancements, system improvements, and data initiatives.
- Represent the team in governance forums, steering committees, and cross-functional programs.
