Description

This Senior Manager will lead the Talent Experience Design for Amazon Entertainment. This is a player-coach role for a builder - someone who can set strategic direction, design world-class experiences, manage a team or 4-5, and personally facilitate when needed.

You willown the vision, roadmap, and delivery of our program portfolio while partnering closely with senior Entertainment leaders and HR Business Partners to identify emerging needs and architect new solutions.

The right leader for this role believes that leadership development should be bold, creative, and business-critical — never generic or off-the-shelf. You think in systems, obsess over participant experience, and measure what matters. You come alive in ambiguity, move fluidly between vision and action, and are relentless about making things better every single time.

Key job responsibilities

Team & Leadership

• Lead and develop the Talent Experience Design team — setting vision, prioritizing the portfolio, and coaching team members to do their best work

• Own the strategy for talent experience programming across Amazon Entertainment, aligned to business priorities and the broader talent agenda

• Stay current on adult learning science, leadership development trends, and innovative experience design to keep our programs ahead of industry standard

• Build and manage the operating rhythm: planning cadence, stakeholder communication, budget, and vendor relationships

Program Design & Delivery

• Architect end-to-end talent experiences — from executive onboarding to cohort-based leadership development to personalized coaching engagements

• Translate business strategy and organizational diagnostics into compelling program designs with clear learning objectives, experiential methodology, and measurable outcomes

• Personally facilitate (or curate facilitators for) high-impact sessions, creating environments of psychological safety, candid dialogue, and breakthrough thinking

Partnerships

• Serve as a trusted advisor to Entertainment HR Business Partners and senior business leaders, consulting on talent challenges and recommending experience-based solutions when applicable

• Collaborate across HR teams (Talent Management, Recruiting, Employee Relations) to ensure programs are integrated into the broader talent ecosystem

• Represent the team's work to senior leadership, building visibility and sponsorship for talent experience investments

Measurement & Iteration

• Define success metrics and build feedback loops that enable continuous improvement across all programs

• Use data and participant insights to iterate — treating every cohort, every session, and every engagement as an opportunity to sharpen the outcome

• Share best practices, case studies, and scalable frameworks across the broader HR and Amazon talent community

About the team

We design and deliver learning experiences to solve unique business challenges and continuously iterate to sharpen the outcome.

Our portfolio currently includes:

• Act One: An immersive onboarding experience for new Entertainment employees to connect and engage with the Amazon Entertainment businesses, leaders, and each other while gaining preparation to navigate their roles.

• Polaris: A cohort-based leadership program for select leaders in Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, accelerating growth across Business, Technology/Product, Creative, and Leadership domains while bridging Amazon and Entertainment cultures.

• Executive Development: Personalized development experiences for senior leaders, tailored to their unique context, growth edges, and business challenges.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience leading complex global or country-wide initiatives

  • Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in talent development, leadership development, organizational development, or a related HR discipline

  • Experience in entertainment, media, technology, or other fast-paced creative industries

  • Track record of building programs from scratch in ambiguous, high-growth environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of people management experience

  • Experience in the areas of management and leadership development, organization development, learning and development, group facilitation, training and training design

  • 5+ years designing and delivering leadership development programs at scale

  • Experience with executive coaching, 360 assessments, team effectiveness, or organizational design engagements

  • Strong data orientation — comfortable defining metrics, interpreting qualitative and quantitative feedback, and using insights to drive iteration

About the Company

A

Amazon

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
