Expected salary range of $159,300 to $177,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Responsibilities:

Primary Purpose of Position


Primary Duties and Accountabilities

  • Plan, perform and control project policies, objectives and responsibilities.
  • Assure adequate support and resources are available to project team.
  • Guide project managers by effective personal attitudes, leadership and professional conduct.
  • Promote business activity by coordinating, developing and presenting concepts and technical findings.
  • Conducts due diligence on opportunities from the Sales team before assigning resources, including the use of external consultants as needed. Communicates assessments to Leadership.
  • Drives territory-level visibility by encouraging the cultivation of local networks, including prospects, clients, and business partners.
  • Mentor and coach team members and facilitate development opportunities for the team and the business.
  • Participates in and supports the hiring and promotion process, including conducting interviews and providing hiring recommendations.
  • Provide leadership, oversight, coaching, and guidance to a team of Technical Sales Managers (TSMs).
  • Manage a team of Technical Sales Managers responsible for identifying and developing energy efficiency focused infrastructure renewal and building upgrade and improvement projects.
  • Oversee the development of projects from preliminary assessment through final deliverable, including project status reviews, resource planning, and quality assurance. Review final deliverables for technical feasibility, energy savings guarantee accuracy, cost reasonableness, and alignment with customer objectives.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to align project execution with sales strategy. Support proposal presentations, customer interviews, contract negotiations, bid activities, and installation execution to advance business objectives and customer outcome.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of building systems and technologies, and the interaction of building systems
  • Experience performing cost savings analysis and leveraging customers' operational data to gauge value of potential project engagement opportunities
  • Proven success in a customer-facing role, demonstrating effective communication and service skills
  • Experience in directing, supervising, training employees, assigning and directing work, conducting performance appraisals, disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving personnel problems
  • Excellent problem solving, decision-making and planning skills
  • Effective written and oral communication/presentation skills, report generation & technical writing skills
  • Technical writing skills accompanied by a financial knowledge/business acumen Familiarity with project pro forma and scope-of-work documents
  • Experience in handling high stress situations where tact and cooperation are crucial to cost-effective operation
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10-years of experience in project development, sales engineering, or developing facilities based or building infrastructure projects; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 10-years of experience supporting technical sales, developing customer solutions, identifying customer needs, and communicating complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English

  • Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)
  • LEED accredited professional
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
  • Experience with cost estimating and building modeling software RSMeans, eProject Bulider, Trane TRACE & Energy Star
  • Experience developing energy efficiency projects under Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC), Energy as a Service (EaaS), Utility Energy Savings Contract, and/or GSA Schedule 84 Contract programs
