Sr. Modern Apps -Architect

Role/Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Modern Apps -Architect to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge cloud-native solutions utilizing Java microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with one or more major cloud providers and a deep understanding of cloud-native principles.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and architect scalable, resilient, and high-performance cloud-native solutions using microservices
2. Lead the development of cloud migration strategies and modernization roadmaps
3. Provide expert guidance on container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
4. Develop and implement cloud governance policies, standards, and best practices
5. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance our cloud infrastructure
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives
7. Mentor junior architects and engineers on cloud-native best practices
8. Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical leadership throughout the development lifecycle
9. Optimize cloud resource utilization and cost management

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. 12+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 6 years focused on cloud-native solutions
2. Expert-level knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS)
3. Extensive experience designing and implementing Java microservices-based architectures
4. Design, deploy, and manage Kafka clusters in on-premise and/or cloud environments.
5. Ensure the scalability and reliability of Kafka brokers, producers, and consumers.
6. Strong knowledge of database technologies, both relational and NoSQL
7. Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
8. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
9. Familiarity with serverless computing and event-driven architectures
10. Knowledge of API design and management
11. Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements
12. Experience with distributed systems and their associated challenges
13. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to architect solutions for complex business requirements
14. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
15. Relevant certifications (AWS Solutions Architect) are a plus

Additional Skills:

1. Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools for microservices environments
2. Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies
3. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
