    Position Specific Description

    This Proprietary Natural Gas Trader is responsible for building and trading NextEra Energy Marketing's physical gas portfolio in the Permian and Southwest region. Proprietary Traders apply a high level of competency in trading strategies, pipeline rules, physical market knowledge, financial products, and regulatory policies.

    In this role you will be responsible for:

    • Performing individual research
    • Profitable deal execution
    • Deal entry management
    • Monthly reconciliations
    • Transacting physical gas, transport, storage, and financial basis
    • Creating markets for origination and asset optimization groups
    • Applying knowledge of Texas and Southwest natural gas infrastructure
    • Managing a profitable proprietary trading book

    Individuals in this role may be responsible for after-hours and weekend work on an as-needed basis.

    Job Overview

    This position is responsible for trading energy commodities, options, heat rates, and energy products in various markets the tenure of trade ranges from intraday through 5 years, depending on assigned book. Individuals apply a high level of competency in trading strategies, physical market knowledge, regulatory market design, and competitive marketplace profile.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Performs individual research, deal entry management, and monthly reconciliation
    • Makes markets for asset optimization groups that are responsible for hedging companys nationwide generation portfolio
    • Applies knowledge of multiple trading transaction systems
    • Manages a profitable proprietary trading book
    • Trains less experienced traders
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Grad / GED
    • Bachelors or Equvalent Experience
    • Experience: 3+ years
