Pay depends on level of experience, educaiton, whether possess Active DOD Clearance, what certifications achieved (e.g. Security+, CCNE) and extent of experience in the "pluses" with
STIGs, HAIPE/TACLANE, COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment, Tactical/military Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2, (MIL) SATCOM equipment, etc.

REQUIRED:
• Bachelor of Science in STEM disciplinewith 8 years of experience;
OR 6 years of relevant experience with a Master (MS) degree;
OR 12 years relevant network engineer experience if no degree
• Exp with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
• Understand IP4, IPv6 network design, incl. IP sub-netting & protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
• Understand network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE).
• Understand advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
• Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.

PREFERRED (NOT Required):

Experience with ANY of the following is a "nice to have" but NOT required -
• DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
• Network management apps: Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC),Cisco ISE.
• Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, security controls, STIGs.
• Windows, Linux, and VMWare configuration and troubleshooting.
• HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment
• Tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2.
• (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services.
• Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VTC
• Cisco Modelling Labs (CML) or Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL).
• MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio
• Active DOD Secret Clearance
