Summary:
- The Pharmacy Department processes millions of orders per year across multiple service lines and sites of care across UPHS. The Senior Operations Administrator will be primarily responsible for managing operations for assigned health system pharmacy locations. This includes partnering with pharmacy/hospital personnel, pharmacy leadership, or designees to maintain best in class pharmacy care to patients of Penn Medicine. The Senior Operations Administrator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of pharmacy operations, including managing relationships with clinics, physicians, nurses, clinical pharmacist specialists in order to achieve best outcomes for patients. They will support process improvements and strategic initiatives related to operational efficiency across assigned Penn Medicine pharmacy areas. They will partner with the Pharmacy Department Senior Management to monitor performance across key performance metrics to ensure growth of patient care services. They will also assist in strategic planning within the department. The Senior Operation Administrator will assist in hiring, training, and onboarding of staff. Lastly, they will design processes and workflow that support ongoing regulatory compliance with multiple regulatory agencies including, but not limited to, the Joint Commission, Utilization Review Accreditation Commission, Department of Health, Food and Drug Administration, Board of Pharmacy, and United States Pharmacopeia.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize and maintain operations across pharmacy areas to achieve best in class pharmacy metrics
- Maintain relationship with physicians, nurses, clinical pharmacists, and other key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Responsible to coordinate day to day operations and staffing cross coverage
- Coordinate data reporting to Pharmacy Managers across key metrics
- Communicate and coordinate the completion of daily activities to achieve daily operational objectives
- Develop, support and adhere to SOPs while striving for process improvement
- Reconcile completed and pending work in order to escalate situations as they occur
Credentials:
- CPhT- Certified Pharmacy Tech (Required)
- Registered Technician (PA State Board of Pharmacy) (Required)
- ASHP Certificate (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- 10+ years of relevant pharmacy experience (Required)
- Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
