 The Position:

We are seeking a full-time Sr. Payroll Specialist for our Finance department. This position reports directly to the Fiscal Manager and is primarily responsible
for processing payroll, assisting with 401k administration, and backing up GL functions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Extract time records and process payroll information bi-weekly within UKG to ensure timely and accurate payment of employees
  • Create and verify monthly work from home excel file
  • Provide Payroll funding email after each bi-weekly payroll
  • Complete the bi-weekly Payroll and Fidelity journal entries
  • Update the payroll cash register (for payroll bank rec) after issuing manual checks
  • Partner with HR as required, ensuring all information is captured accurately and timely (including new hire information, salary rates, status changes, etc.). Conduct routine payroll audits to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Review and audit of timekeeping records for compliance with established standards
  • Maintain and submit the NBS contribution file
  • Prepare all termination and manual checks
  • Responsible for yearly census report
  • Complete and submit quarterly MVR report to the Bureau of Labor Statistics
  • Assist with the Fidelity 401k Administration
  • Additional Duties as assigned
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • This position is fully onsite.
  • Starting Salary: $65,000 - $75,000

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with payroll systems. UKG preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • High level of accuracy, judgment, and commitment to quality improvement
  • Professional, respectful interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Administration, or a related field is highly preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
