Location: Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite in Charlotte, NCType: 12 Months +Description: The Sr. Payroll Tax Specialist will support a large Payroll Operations team by maintaining accurate payroll tax setups in Workday, ensuring precise and timely tax filings, and providing comprehensive audit, research, and operational support. This role oversees payroll processing, collaborating with Accounting, HRIT, and external payroll vendors to resolve issues and ensure compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.Key Responsibilities:Review and maintain Workday Payroll Tax setup for each legal entity and jurisdiction. Partner with payroll vendors and internal teams to update, correct, and reconcile payroll tax data.Review, reconcile, and process monthly/quarterly tax filings; manage SUI rate updates; handle applications for new and closing jurisdictions.Research and resolve payroll tax notices for multi-state entities.Prepare documentation for audits and respond to audit data requests.Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing including regular, special, and supplemental payrolls.Coordinate system improvements and process enhancements.Implement and monitor payroll processing controls and data integrity through regular audits.Generate key metrics and reports to monitor compliance and support ongoing process improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce manual efforts and streamline reporting.Preferred Qualifications:3+ years of payroll tax experience required; 5+ years preferred.Hands-on experience with Workday strongly preferred.Experience liaising with third-party payroll vendors and internal stakeholders.Exceptional communication, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.Experience handling payroll tax matters for multi-state employers.Hybrid work: Candidate must be able to work onsite in Charlotte, NC three days a week.#J-18808-Ljbffr
