Senior Platform Engineer, OpenShift and Kubernetes The Role
Our client is looking for a senior engineer to own a containerized platform from top to bottom. That covers cluster and storage administration, deployment pipelines, GitOps, and the AWS infrastructure underneath it all.
When something fails, you'll be the one people call. A crashing pod, a stalled pipeline, a persistent volume claim that won't bind, or a service that can't reach its neighbor all land on your desk. You'll track down the cause, write it up, and make sure the problem doesn't come back. What You'll Work On
Administer and troubleshoot OpenShift and RKE2 clusters day to day
Keep deployments flowing through Argo CD and pipelines in GitLab CI/CD
Build and maintain Ansible automation and Terraform-managed infrastructure
Support the AWS footprint, including compute, storage, networking, and access
Lead root cause analysis on incidents anywhere in the stack and document findings and fixes
Technical Background Kubernetes and OpenShift
Hands-on administration of OpenShift and/or RKE2 environments
Solid command of core objects: Namespaces, Deployments, Pods, StatefulSets, Jobs, Services, Secrets, and ConfigMaps
Persistent storage troubleshooting covering PVCs, PVs, StorageClasses, and volume mounts
RBAC, ServiceAccounts, secrets management, and sound cluster security practices
Automation and Delivery
Ansible development, including roles, playbooks, inventories, and broader automation workflows
Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling
Git, GitLab CI/CD, and GitOps deployment patterns with Argo CD
Container technologies and registries such as Artifactory, Harbor, or Nexus
Cloud, Linux, and Networking
AWS services including IAM, EC2, EBS, S3, CloudWatch, and VPC networking
Troubleshooting cloud instances, access controls, storage, and network configuration
Deep Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, ingress and egress, and service-to-service connectivity
Messaging and Observability
Apache Pulsar, including managing or troubleshooting topics and other messaging resources
Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, or comparable monitoring and logging platforms
How You Work
Comfortable isolating problems that cross application code, containers, the cluster, cloud resources, storage, and the network
Methodical about root cause analysis and clear in writing up what broke and how it was resolved
Clearance and Requirements
U.S. citizenship required
Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
Full-time onsite presence in Richardson, TX
Drug and alcohol screening applies before hire and may continue on a scheduled or random basis. The employer pays for all testing and follows applicable federal, state, and local law.
