** This is not a remote position. T-Mobile is a hybrid work environment requiring work in the office three (3) days per week. The successful candidate will be located in the greater Seattle, Washington area.**

Job Overview
This role is essential for developing and optimizing platform services that support core data workloads and infrastructure performance. It involves designing, deploying, and enhancing platform architecture with a focus on security, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence. The position requires collaboration with engineering, data, and product teams within an Agile environment to improve platform capabilities. Success is measured by the robustness, efficiency, and automation of platform services that enhance developer experience. The work directly impacts the technological framework that supports organizational objectives and customer solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and deploy platform services to improve infrastructure performance, security, and cost-efficiency
Optimize existing platform services to efficiently handle core data workloads
Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to advance platform capabilities
Implement automation and operational improvements to enhance developer experience
Ensure robust platform architecture through practical engineering solutions
Work within an Agile environment to streamline processes and increase productivity
Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed

Education and Work Experience:

Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of related work experience
OR advanced degree with 1 year of related work experience
OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)
Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science or Related Field (Preferred)
4-7 years Developing and deploying platform services with a focus on automation and operational excellence (Preferred)
4-7 years Collaborating with engineering, data, and product teams in an Agile environment to advance platform capabilities (Preferred)
4-7 years Optimizing infrastructure for performance, security, and cost-efficiency in a cloud environment (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Agile Methodologies Expertise in applying Agile practices and principles to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of software development projects. (Required)
Technical Leadership Ability to lead platform engineering teams, providing technical guidance and support in a dynamic environment. (Required)
Problem Solving Strong analytical skills to solve complex technical issues and optimize platform performance and security. (Required)
Data Management Proficient in managing and structuring large datasets to improve platform functionality and developer experience. (Required)

Licenses and Certifications:

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA): Certification that validates the ability to design, build, configure, and expose native cloud applications for Kubernetes, an essential skill for platform engineers working with container orchestration. (Preferred)
AWS Certified Solutions Architect: Certification demonstrating proficiency in designing distributed systems and applications on the AWS platform, which is crucial for optimizing platform services in cloud environments. (Preferred)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) An advanced-level certification for IT pros serious about careers in information security, focusing on managing and securing corporate environments, aligning with the security aspects of the role. (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $116,000 - $209,300

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
