Title: Senior Plumbing Design Technician Industrial Systems

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Plumbing Design Technician to lead the design and coordination of complex industrial plumbing systems. This is a high-impact role focused on delivering fully constructable, code-compliant designs for large-scale industrial facilities.
In this position, you will take ownership of plumbing system layouts, routing, and detailed construction documentation, including P&IDs and technical drawings, while collaborating closely with engineers, clients, and contractors. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, layout, and routing of industrial plumbing systems for complex facilities
Develop detailed construction documents, including P&IDs, plans, sections, and system layouts
Perform design work across all project phases including planning, conceptual design, and final detailing
Ensure all designs comply with applicable plumbing codes and industry standards
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and structural groups
Collaborate directly with clients and contractors to ensure design intent and constructability
Review and refine designs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and real-world application
Provide technical leadership and guidance on plumbing system design best practices
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce high-quality drawings and models
Support project delivery with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality standards
Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
8+ years of AutoCAD design experience
4+ years of Revit design experience
5+ years of industrial plumbing design experience, including system layout and routing
Strong working knowledge of U.S. plumbing codes, including IPC and UPC
Proven ability to develop P&IDs and detailed construction documentation
Strong understanding of industrial facility design and coordination requirements
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams
Preferred Skills
Experience working on large-scale industrial or manufacturing facilities
Background with EPC or A&E firms supporting complex infrastructure projects
Advanced experience coordinating within BIM environments
Ability to lead design efforts and mentor junior designers
Strong understanding of constructability and field installation practices
Experience collaborating in remote or distributed project teams
Location: Portland, OR (Fully Remote or Hybrid Available)
Compensation: $50.00 $75.00 per hour (Long-term contract opportunity)
