Sr. PM - Security Operations Center (SOC) Implementation

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the implementation of a Security Operations Center, from initial planning through testing, cutover, hypercare, and formal handoff to operations. This PM will coordinate the SOC vendor and internal security, technology, and business teams. They will also establish the requirements, operating procedures, governance, and acceptance evidence needed for a successful transition.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrated project plan, schedule, budget, risks, issues, decisions, stakeholder communications, and executive reporting.
• Lead workshops to define and document business, technical, security, integration, reporting, and operational requirements.
• Coordinate onboarding of security data sources, technologies, access, integrations, workflows, and reporting.
• Establish the SOC operating model, including service boundaries, responsibilities, escalation paths, handoffs, governance, and decision rights.
• Drive creation and approval of processes, playbooks, runbooks, work instructions, and other operational documentation.
• Manage vendor deliverables against the statement of work, milestones, acceptance criteria, and target dates.
• Coordinate testing, readiness reviews, cutover, knowledge transfer, hypercare, and operational acceptance.
• Identify and resolve delivery, security, compliance, commercial, and transition risks.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of project or program management experience with substantial delivery experience in information security.
• Direct experience implementing or transitioning an SOC, managed security service, managed detection and response (MDR) service, or comparable outsourced security operation.
• Experience managing a security vendor's statement of work, contractual deliverables, milestones, changes, and service acceptance.
• Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills including experience developing operational processes, playbooks, or runbooks.
• Experience coordinating integrations, testing, cutover, hypercare, and transition to ongoing operations.
• Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, written communication, and executive reporting skills.
• Ability to lead delivery across teams and organizational boundaries in a global environment.

Preferred

• PMP, PRINCE2, Certified Scrum Master, or a comparable project management certification.
• Security operations, incident management, risk, or governance training or certification.
• Familiarity with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, threat intelligence, detection engineering, incident response, case management, and IT service management.
• Experience in a large enterprise, manufacturing environment, or organization with operational technology dependencies.

This is a 6-month Contract opportunity with our Kansas City, MO client.
