Overview

Security is one of the fastest-moving technology markets, with organizations defending increasingly complex environments spanning identity, endpoints, cloud, data, AI systems, and autonomous agents. We are seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Competitive Intelligence, to develop an evidence-based view of the security landscape and translate technical and market signals into insights that shape strategy, positioning, product direction, and go-to-market decisions across Microsoft Security.

Responsibilities

  • Competitive intelligence across the cybersecurity and AI security landscape, tracking market trends, emerging competitors, customer requirements, and evolving buyer expectations.
  • Develop rigorous, evidence-based assessments of competitor technologies, architectures, integrations, and security capabilities using technical analysis, benchmarks, and independent research.
  • Translate complex technical and market insights into clear, actionable recommendations that inform positioning, messaging, strategy, and go-to-market decisions.
  • Partner closely with engineering and product teams to influence roadmap priorities, investment decisions, and differentiation strategies.
  • Produce high-impact competitive deliverables, including executive analyses, battlecards, strategic points of view, objection handling, and sales readiness content.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in product marketing, competitive intelligence, cybersecurity, or a related field; OR Masters degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; OR equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep technical expertise in one or more cybersecurity domains, including identity, cloud security, endpoint security, data security, security operations, or AI security.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate security technologies through benchmarking, technical analysis, and evidence-based assessments.
  • Experience in software development, application security, DevSecOps, secure coding, or software supply chain security preferred
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives for business and technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional influencing skills, with experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, or strategic market analysis.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or cloud security certifications are a plus.

Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
